Chairs

Encounter

“Ensoulment” was Lassnig’s term to describe how she made her own drawings move via stop-motion animation. Two figures, an encounter that begins as a confrontation before all differences are overcome. Iris

Stomach, legs, knees. The movement of the body parts collides with the movement of the film. A chin rises up from between two breasts. Maria Lassnig Kantate
